Dear Sitecore Community,

In case you missed two of my posts on Sitecore 9.1 here they are:

As mentioned in my last post, here is a list of checkpoints that we had for checking whether the Plain Sitecore 9.1 instance that we installed manually is working as expected or not.

  1. Verify Solr is running on the Solr server as Windows service
  2. Verify that Sitecore loads on {url}/sitecore/login
  3. Verify Sitecore cache is working at {url}/sitecore/admin/cache.aspx
  4. Verify Sitecore showconfig page is loading at {url}/sitecore/admin/showconfig.aspx
  5. Verify if the KeepAlive is properly configured or not.
  6. Verify if you can build the indexes from Sitecore Control Panel
  7. Verify if xConnect loads
  8. Verify if Marketing Automation windows service is running
  9. Verify if Processing Engine windows service is running
  10. Verify if Search-IndexWorker windows service is running
  11. Verify if log files are getting created are generating properly. Check for any errors
  12. Verify Identity Server is turned off
  13. Verify if Sitecore Content Editor loads
  14. Verify if the changes on publishing are reflected on the CD instance
  15. Verify if Analytics data is getting updated on Dashboard
  16. Verify the IIS user has access rights to the Web root
  17. Complete the Post Installation steps like Rebuild link databases, Rebuild Search indexes,Deploy Marketing Definitions

Credit for getting this list ready goes to our amazing team mates with whom I am working – in no particular order – Yogini Zope, Mahek Chaniara, Kiran Patil, Venkat Phani Aburi & Irfan Masurkar

I know there can be a number of points that we can add to this checklist,  so if you find something which you checked and was useful, do share it with me and I would like to add it to this list, so that it can help other community members.

Hope this helps.

Happy Sitecoring! 🙂
